According to the Chinese fan(s) whose friends are trainees/staffs working under SM Entertainment, Kris and Luhan are really close in real life. But because these two have the highest popularity in EXO M, a lot higher than the other four, SM forced them to act(?) in front of the camera as if they're not  really that close. That's why their interaction is rare.

SM is aware of the couple thingy. They make their artists to do skinships in front of the camera to gain popularity cuz the fans love them. They know that fans like to pair them up. If there are a lot of Krishan/Krislu interaction on stage, they will somehow outshine the other four members due to their high popularity.

Some fans doubt that Kris and Luhan are not close in real life since there are quite a few predebut pictures of them together walking on the street and fanaccount of them shopping together. These two are roommates as well.
